Native Apple Silicon Support

BRISTOL, UK, 24 DECEMBER 2021 Crave DSP has updated Crave EQ to work natively on Apple Silicon. Crave EQ can now be used to its full potential on Apple Silicon devices thanks to a native port to ARM based Apple macs. Both Intel and ARM based binaries are included as standard in all plug-in formats to provide the broadest compatibility across audio hosts.

To achieve the low CPU usage customers have come to expect from Crave EQ, the unique filtering algorithms have been hand optimized in ARM assembler. Hundreds of instances of Crave EQ can be used in a single session.

The GPU performance on M1 machines is equally well optimized. In Logic Pro X on an M1 mac mini with Crave EQ running in the foreground, Logic Pro X uses less than 3% GPU.
